Light Stain For Oak Floors. I want something light and without red, orange or yellow undertones (more brownish/ grayish). However, if you're like us & you live in a home with existing hardwoods, chances may be that you don't have white oak, but that won't stop you from trying to get the same vibe. The faux floor was awesome because we could move it around against different walls and see how the colors changed under different light circumstances.
Light oaking can be applied 3 different ways. The white oak floors are so beautiful, light and bright in their raw glory! We also chose minwax stain for our red oak floors.

Dark stain will give your room a more sophisticated and formal look, while light stains will give your room an airy, warm and welcome look. Lighter shades like cherry and golden oak will accent the natural grains and beauty of a floor while still giving it some depth and color. Our floor guy wanted us to choose preferably one stain incase anything ever happens to the floors. Les's have a look at the wood stain.
